We are still dialing in operations and as you may have noticed, inflation seems to be creeping into the cracks.  At Akasha, we are feeling the squeeze as well.  Rent, merchant fees, supplies, additional training and retaining the best bodyworkers, have all gone up in price this year.  This email is to let you know that we will be raising our prices, just a tad, to cover some of those additional expenses.

*New prices begin Nov 15, 2022. Any appointments booked between now and Nov 15th will stay at the current pricing, so get those appointments booked!!! As always, you can change your appointment with no penalty, as many times as needed, up the the 24 hour mark. 2023 is open for booking and you may book as far in advance as you would like.

True to our integrity, values and transparency, we want to make sure you are getting maximum value for your time, money and service, as well as options for those of you feeling that a price increase may be prohibitive to your self care. Below is a list of the upgraded pricing structure, as well as some of the additional goodies we are adding to compensate on your end, and options to continue at the current pricing structure.

New Offerings

1. “Prize” Box

Remember when you were younger and would go to the dentist and get to pick from a box of prizes when you were done?!?  What ever happened to prize boxes?  When I first opened Akasha I was giving out a small container of bath salts to everyone who booked the Signature Massage.  Well….you all came back…..and often.  Many of you started telling me you still had bath salts leftover and didn’t need more, so that fun idea kind of fizzled out.  As many of you know, I’ve been gearing up for retail, but have decided to not pursue that endeavor the way I envisioned it, for now. 

However, I have a bunch of fun products that are going to be re-purposed into an adult prize box.  What?!?!?  Yayyyyyy for prizes.  Essentially this will be a small store for you to pick from a variety of fun retail products (body butter, bath salts, muscle rub, soap, sugar scrub, etc) at the conclusion of your appointment.  This is just an additional way for me to express my thanks and add a little more value, while giving you something tangible to go home with.

2. Cash Discount

I sat down and did the math on how much I am paying in merchant fees.  Wowza! That little credit card is a bit of a money suck.  

Akasha will honor old pricing to anyone who pays in cash so we can avoid those pesky credit card fees.  I know some businesses pass those fees along to the customer, but that didn’t feel right for my business model.  Below is the new pricing structure as well as the cash discount.

VibroAccoustic Sound Therapy (VAT)

Coming very, very soon….. Vibroaccoustic Sound Healing.  I’ve been going through some additional training and learning everything I can about how sound and vibration affect the body.  There is some fascinating science that I am SO excited to be bringing to Akasha starting, hopefully, in November.  

We have purchased a special massage table with transducer speakers built inside the table.  This brings an entire new element to your bodywork as we are able to deliver different frequencies directly to your body before, during or after the massage.  

This enhances the ability to bring your body into a parasympathetic state in a way I’ve never experienced before.  Get excited!   Watch for additional information on this specific modality coming soon.

I will be offering short, complimentary VAT sessions for everyone who books a massage for a limited time. Come experience the magic!!!

Marshal Fire Fundraiser

We have partnered with a local nonprofit, Lending a Hand, that has been heavily integrated this year in the aftermath of the Marshal Fire. Not everyone has been so lucky to just chalk that experience up to a horrible day in history. Many people are still struggling and with holidays right around the corner, Akasha is committed to help. If you are lucky enough to be one of us whose memory is just “that terrible fire in our community”, but were not directly impacted, we are calling on you. When I set up my business accounts before I ever opened my doors, I set up a dedicated Gift/Charity account.  A portion of every single dollar that comes through Akasha gets allocated to that account first.  Before taxes, before payroll, before expenses.  I believe in abundance and giving back.  I have complete faith in this model and it has served me well.  By putting that money back into the world FIRST, in an intentional way, I believe the rest will take care of itself.  Consequently, by choosing Akasha, not only are you supporting a small business and getting a great massage but you are also contributing to vetted, real time need, of members of our local community.

New pricing structure will begin November 15, 2022.  If this small increase prohibits your ability to continue visiting Akasha, PLEASE reach out to me directly.  While I believe with all my soul that this new pricing structure reflects the value you receive at Akasha, I have lived many years sacrificing my self care to make ends meet.  I will not be turning people away for the inability to self care at the new price.  My number one priority, and passion, is creating a space for you to find YOUR individual healing recipe.  I am open to a sliding scale if that is what you need to take care of yourself.
