Together We Heal

Love Is The Answer

Marshal Fire Massage
60 min - $125 / 90 min - $170

As we approach the one year anniversary of the disaster that changed the landscape of our community it is easy for those of us not directly impacted to reflect on that day as a just horrible moment in history. However, the stages of recovery for those impacted directly are long, and varied.

Often when tragedy hits the initial response and outpouring of love is overwhelming. But as the days march on, people go back to their normal lives and support declines. Some have received insurance money, some have not. Some have moved away, some are coming up on the 12 month mark where insurance will no longer pay for temporary accommodations. Everyone is changed forever.

We haven’t forgotten about you friends.

Holidays are upon us. This can be a stressful time for everyone. However, for those impacted by the fire this year is likely going to be a test of grit. Trauma flashbacks, anger, guilt, sadness, regrets and memories are just a few of the emotions likely to resurface. These emotions, like all emotions live in the body. Akasha is committed to putting some healing into our little corner of the universe. We have put together a variety of services to offer our continued support to our brothers, sisters and neighbors. This will include opportunities for you to support, as well as opportunities for those impacted directly by the fire.

What can you do?

  • Book a massage!

We have created a special massage that allows for you to still receive the amazing bodywork you are used to, while knowing a portion of your money will be going directly to those impacted by the fire. When you book The Marshal Fire Massage, 25% of service fee as well as 100% of your tip will go to a fundraising account dedicated for the affected population.

*Massage customized to your needs at the time of service.

My Story

My family moved to Colorado in 2014 and landed in Superior for 5 years. When it came time to purchase a home in 2019 we were unable to find a place in Superior and ended up planting our roots in the neighboring community of Erie. When the fire happened, I, like many others, was shattered. I watched in horror as neighbors and friends lost everything. Homes that we had looked at purchasing are now gone. My children are still very integrated in the oh oh community and I knew I needed to help, somehow….

I made the decision that I was going to wait until the initial couple waves were over and enter the landscape as a late responder. Support staff, if you will. Having been through life changing trauma myself, I understand the long game and how valuable those that enter the picture down the road can be for long term mental health. Personally, my family went through a life shattering time a few years back when we lived in Superior from 2014-2019. The support from the community was overwhelming and carried us through some of the hardest years of my life. I knew one day I would return to that community to payback my debt of gratitude. This feels very serendipitous and I am so thankful for the position I am in to offer my support and services.

We know now that trauma lives in the body. I am trauma informed and trained to work with body, mind and spirit. My space is very intentionally set up for healing and nervous system regulation. Akasha is affirming for neurodiversity and accommodates a variety of sensory needs. I am honored to be in a position to use my education, intuition and experience to bring some healing to a community I love so dearly, and the world, that is hurting so badly right now. Thank you for trusting me, and sharing your pain. It is an honor to work with each and every one of you and your stories.
